Booya! Impromptu post.

Thursday, March 29, 2012
I have wanted to write a blog post but have no idea what to write about. I will just write and see what comes happens.  Bare with me, this could be boring.

I hope that one day I can look back at this blog post and laugh.  I have so much going on in my life right now that I have nothing to report to anyone.  I have nothing to write about.  Sometimes, I feel like I am living the same day over and over but wearing different clothes.  The best part about this is, I don't mind.  Enjoying what you do = living to the fullest.

I come home from work and edit.  After I edit, I go to the theatre, every night I am there by 6:30.  I am usually home by 9 or 9:30pm.  I might eat somewhere in there.  Relax for 30 minutes and then continue to edit until I cannot see straight.  Then it is shower time and bed time.  The vacation I had last week was much needed.

There were times on vacation when I would stay at the camper and people would ask where I was.  It is great to be able to say....editing.  With no power, just a mariner batter and inverter, and no internet connection, editing is all I could do.  Well edit and read.  The weather was fantastic and I enjoyed every minute of being away and actually got a lot accomplished.

Ahhh.....the life of a writer.  I imagine what full-time famous authors do all day, well other than write.  Fancy parties and tea time.  It all seems magical like lollipops and rainbows.

After this show opens, I will have so much free time.  I have tons of work to do and cant wait to start writing the new stuff.  Counting down to April 22nd.  That is the day my weeknights become completely open.  Can't wait! I will then officially have no obligations to anyone or anything other than writing.

I only have 50 pages left to read over/edit for After the Woods.  It is my first novel so I tend to not be as confident as I should about my draft.  My only goal is to create a compelling story that some people like. (You can't please everyone!) If I haven't done that then slap me purple!

Anyway! It is almost 6pm ....I guess I should get going. I guess this post wasn't as boring as I thought it would be.  I will catch you on the flipside!

Different: WW Post #1

Wednesday, March 28, 2012
"Use your imagination," a small gnome said from the corner of the room holding an over sized silver coin in his hand.  Isabella was not sure she heard the small figure correctly.  She brushed the red bangs that hung above her brow and tucked her hair behind her ears.  The little brown freckles scattered across her face like stars in the night sky.  "Bebo, no more of this imagination talk.  It gets boring," she said.  Isabella was only thirteen and as skeptical as someone four times her age.  In those thirteen years, she traveled through her fair share of fantasy worlds and fairy tales.  When alone, she imagined being like every other normal thirteen year old in the world.
"If you imagine great things…they will come to life." The gnome stressed his statement and shook his tiny finger at the girl.  "But what if I don't want to imagine anything? I'd much prefer to stay in this dark damp room.  It’s kinda peaceful here," she said.  The gnome paced angrily at the girls sarcasm.  Under the little mans feet, the wooden floor released several high pitch squeaks.  Isabella eagerly watched Bebo’s temper flair.
He argued with himself loudly in gnarmlet, a secret gnome language.  "I speak gnarmlet, you know,"  Isabella said with a cool confident tone.  The girl crossed her arms and slammed her eyes shut.  She heard the sound of distant waves and thought of mystical green waters with white sandy shores.  She opened her eyes and choked down a smile.  Bebo's arms were perfectly placed behind his head while he relaxed in a hot pink lawn chair.  A dinosaur floaty snugly hugged his waist. "I will have to tell your father about this one, you know?"  She enjoyed the sand between her toes and the sun on her face.  Isabella visited this beach often.
He winked and the two traveled back to reality.  They stood in the muggy front yard of Isabella's yellow house.  She covered her mouth with both hands to hold back monstrous giggles that slowly crept up her body.  "Go on, go inside.  I’ll be in shortly," the gnome said.  Isabella hurried up the steps and made sure to not let the door slam.  Bebo stood in the gravel drive and kicked little pebbles while he thought.  He flipped the silver coin high into the air and whispered, "sandy beaches.”

Something New: Writer Wednesdays

Wednesday, March 14, 2012
I am starting something new on my blog! In lieu of writer Wednesday's, I will be posting a new entry every wednesday to a story that's been brewing in my mind for months and months. ((I'm not crazy...but wow, sure seems like it.))

I plan to write until I feel like the story is complete. It could be 10,000 words or 60,000, I am not quite sure yet. I am doing this mainly because the MC of this story idea visited one of my daydreams. It's time to let the words flow and write this stuff down.

Side note:
I am not the best editor of my own work but I try! Don't hate me if you see grammar problems and such. I know a baby cries each time bad grammar is used. So to support all mothers with small babies, I will try my darnedest to fix the issues before posting. Remember: I am new! So throw the newbie a bone and enjoy the story!! Writing is one of my many outlets and I am here to learn!
With that being said, creative criticism is always always welcome!

Will be posting a few paragraphs llater today!

FULL MOON AND....

Thursday, March 8, 2012
And I am feeling spunky. Ok, I was kidding. It really isn't a full moon but I really am feeling spunky. Glad to be getting over this deadly flu-like cold my body has harvested for the past few days. Nothing like a shot in the bum and antibiotics to clear it up!

Today, or should I say tonight, when I return from rehearsal I will have the joy of baking 100 cookies for the astronomy meeting tomorrow. I promise each and every one will be devoured. No cookies are coming home with me!

My goal, while those 100 delicious cookies are baking, is to finish hand editing my novel. Only 30 more pages left. ::jumps for joy::

I want to push this baby on to CQ by the end of next week. After hand editing, I will then type her up and ship her off. The fun part is deciphering my handwriting. That is what this weekend is for!

I have had people ask me when and where they can buy the novel. Well folks, I am excited to say that is TBA! TBA is mysterious...oooohhhh (scary sound effects). There is a certain ring to it. I like it! Everyone patiently waiting for the mysterious TBA to be lifted. Oooohhhh! It's creating a buzz in my hometown, that's for sure!

On a side note: I have two camping trips planned in the next few weeks. During that time, I plan to hash out book two of the Cerise Saga. I love camping. I can focus when I am surrounded my nature. If I ever make it to that celebrity level, know I will have a "writing cabin" in the mountains somewhere, but it won't be like the plot for Misery by Stephan King.

How has everyone's week been? What are your writing goals for next week?

Catch you on the flipside!
