Camping in the Summer!

Wednesday, July 13, 2011
We went camping a couple of weekends ago and it was a great way to get AWAY from it all. The hubby and I bought a pop up camper in February and have officially went camping twice. The weather was a little hot (as expected in TEXAS during the summer) but it was manageable. Thank god for A/C in the pup, it was so cold at one point during the night we almost had to turn the air on medium. Craziness. We arrived after the park closed and when I woke up at 9am (ON A SATURDAY) i found a cute little yellow ticket on the forerunner that nicely demanded for me to pay up. I had reservations so it was no biggie. We hiked several trails and geocached (geocaching.com for those who have no idea what I am talking about). The park was surrounded by water, which was nice to see and some of the trails went through little marsh land.

Below are some pictures from our trip:

I really enjoy being in the outdoors. It gets me away from the concerns of every day life, its refreshing and relaxing. I love the way the woods smell, the way the trees rustle, and how the the sun sets over the water. Summer camping isnt always the smartest or most comfortable time because of the humidity but it was just what I needed.
